Help & frequently asked questions
First Out shows you exactly where to stand on the platform for the fastest exit. Each station has three zones: Front (nearest the driver's cab, quickest if the exit is at that end), Middle (balanced choice for most exits), and Back (best when the exit is behind the train). The app highlights the fastest position in green. Stand there, and you'll be first off.
The exit positioning data is community-verified and continuously improving. We test stations regularly, but the Underground is always changing — new exits, building works, seasonal variations. If you notice an exit position is wrong, please report it using the verification feature in the app (tap the checkmark icon on any station). Community reports help us improve accuracy for everyone.
Parent/Buggy Mode helps if you're traveling with a pushchair. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left, then toggle "Parent Mode" on. This will prioritize exits that are more accessible and less crowded. You can toggle it off at any time.
Yes. First Out is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that works completely offline. All station data and exit positions are cached on your device the first time you open the app. You can use it on the tube, on a flight, or anywhere without internet. Live line status may not update without a connection, but station positioning data is always available.
First Out covers all 11 London Underground lines, plus the Elizabeth Line, DLR (Docklands Light Railway), and all 6 London Overground lines (Lioness, Mildmay, Windrush, Weaver, Suffragette, and Liberty). That's 383 stations total. We're continuously verifying and improving data across all lines.
If an exit position seems wrong, tap the checkmark icon on any station page and select the correct position. This registers a community vote and helps us identify which stations need verification. You can also email us directly at support@firstout.app with details about which station and which line.
No. First Out does not collect any personal data. Your saved stations, journey routines, and preferences stay on your device only. Yes. Tap the star icon on any station to save it. Your saved stations appear at the top of the app for quick access. You can also create named routines — save multiple stations together (e.g., "Morning commute" or "Weekend route") and switch between them instantly.
